Is this ok? KK hand
Getting really frustrated at $2/4 and questioning basically every play I make. Is this ok?
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero raises, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 3 folds, BB calls. Flop: (8.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP3 raises, BB folds, Hero calls, UTG+2 calls. Turn: (7.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, UTG+2 folds, MP3 raises, Hero calls. River: (11.25 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, MP3 bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 13.25 BB Flop and turn both feel wrong to me. Could I have folded after the turn raise, or is there still enough of a chance that he has 2 pair and I could still outdraw him? |

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
3-bet this flop. You are way ahead most of the time and if he caps this could save you half a big bet in calling down.
The way you played it, betting the turn is definitely right. And I like just calling the raise on the turn because he could very well have hit his OESD. Call because he will often have two pair and you are getting outs. River is good. You gotta call this getting 12-1. You're probably beat like 75% of the time or something, but you are nowhere near getting odds to fold. Remember 99-JJ are very real possibilities and both would raise this flop and this turn most likely. |

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
3bet the flop.
Don't give the fish bluffing his one-card OESD a cheap look at the turn. Raise the turn. Call down if 3bet. |

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
Is this guy loose enough to cold call with a two-pair making hand w/ this board? Either way I'd 3-bet the flop and see what happens. If he caps I'm ready to take the cheap road to showdown. (You might be able to bet/fold the turn in that case and save a bet, but I'm not very good at folding, especially if this guy is an unknown.) |

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
Sorry, I had no reads on any of these guys at the time.
Yeah, I guess I should've 3 bet the flop here. Just reverting back to my weak-tight ways sometimes. [ QUOTE ] Raise the turn. Call down if 3bet. [/ QUOTE ] Do you mean checkraise this turn? I would really hate to get 3-bet with that gutshot out there, unless I'd be willing to fold. And I don't think I could here. |

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
Don't check-raise the turn.
(If you do, however, you must fold if he 3-bets. I think this is the absolute worst way to go, just for the record.) |

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
If you're going to lead the turn, you might as well 3-bet the flop.

Re: Is this ok? KK hand
Er sorry. I meant 3bet the flop. He'll likely just call. If so then lead the turn like you did. If he raises the turn then call it and check-call the river.
