Suited Aces in 6-max
PartyPoker, 10-20/15-30, 6max.
I don't have PokerTracker, and I'm wondering if suited, small aces (say, A7s and below) are profitable utg and utg+1. Please note: specifically, *only* for the 10/20, 15/30, 6-max games. For all of you guys with PokerTracker in these games, could you please comment? Thanks! |

Re: Suited Aces in 6-max
As with all good poker questions, the answer is "it depends"!
In my last 11000 hands I'm up $243 (12 BB) with A7s-A2s in UTG or UTG+1... BUT.... I've only VP$IP with them 19 out of 56 times (34%). So, I think there are games when yes, they are profitable. And times when, no, they aren't. Pack PS- A2s-A4s are much better than A5s-A7s for an obvious reason. |

Re: Suited Aces in 6-max
Dont play this trash UTG.
I might raise A7s UTG+1 at the right table but the rest are easy folds. |

Re: Suited Aces in 6-max
At 10/20 I usually raise A7s UTG but fold lower. If the table is very loose and passive I think limping A6s-A2s becomes profitable but I don't run into tables like that very often.

I don't think this is at all true. |

No they're not. Especially in a shorthanded game. But really, even if you want to make some sort of argument that A6s is the worst suited ace, which is doubtful, the difference would be so slight that it is a serious error in thinking to believe that one could be much better than the other. -Michael |

I used to post hands and get no replys.. now I post an opinion at 1:30AM.. (which I thought was commonly accepted and even dare I say, mentioned in HEFAP) and I get two guys telling me what a moron I am. Sheesh. Fine.. I'm wrong... (or am I?). Happy? Pack |

Re: Suited Aces in 6-max
A5s is a big better than A6s, but A6s is better than the A4-2s. A7s is much better than the low ones for obvious reasons.
I agree that they arenīt profitable all the time, but often will, just have to pick your spots. |

Re: Suited Aces in 6-max
The straight possibilty from the lower Aces is no way as valuable as kicker strength especially in shorthand.
A6s crushes A2s, even A6o is better. |

Re: Suited Aces in 6-max
Well, if you post hands and they don't get a lot of hits, there are two possibilities: the hands you post aren't interesting, or people aren't responding because they don't recognize your name. The best way to build rapport is to respond to others' posts. They will notice this and will respond to yours in kind.
I am happy if this discussion helped you, yes. -Michael |
