Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
"I heard that and I thought: 'here's a guy whose probably a career 4-8 player who has finally had it with the beats'. Not exactly the kind of profile I want to draw up on a leading poker authority."

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
i agree... i've been pushing my 5-tier limit hold'em structure for years now. 3-tier is simply not enough.

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
He probably just needed to come up with a column this month?
Online is a granite patch compared to live games. On my recent trip to LV I played from 3/6 to 10/20 and every game was loose as a goose with 5 to 9 seeing every flop at all the limits I played. Online I play 2/4 to 5/10 and I never wander into a game online that matches the looseness of each and every live game I have played. If I could find that kind of looseness online I'd play a lot more than I do. |

I believe he has made this assertion before.
I have less and less respect for Krieger by the day. |

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
The more I learn about poker, the less I read CardPlayer. There are still some authors who's columns I really enjoy, but it is definitely not aimed at serious players. I think I have seen bad beat columns from half of the writers who document hands!!

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
Just curious, can anyone compare the looseness of the B&M rooms in LA and LV vs. AC. I live on the East Coast, so I have been to AC 5 or 6 times, and I don't recall it being that loose (I've also played at Hollywood Park for 2 hours, and I definitely remember it being extremely loose, 7/9 to the flop, 3rd club makes somebody's 84s a flush in a preflop raised pot loose). Can anyone who's played extensively on both coasts offer a more in-depth comparison.

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
garden city was the most frustrating place ive ever been. i usually stick to bay 101 where theres usually ONLY 6-7 to the flop.

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
Although my sample size is small, 5 players to the flop seems like the median number in AC HE limit games 6-12 and below. I've played in many games tighter, and many games looser... this is just a median number. And it's a pretty loose median number!

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
How about this little gem of a quote from Shykofsky's article in Card Player this month:
"Recommendation: Muck. It's tempting to play for the swollen pot, but in truth, it is more like gambling than solid poker. What could those four opponents be holding? By the same token, you might call if you've been running real good and try to ride your rush." |

Re: Lou Krieger\'s non-sense cardplayer artical.
I agree that Lou is wrong. Online games are more difficult than live games when comparing same limits. Online is only made more profitable because of the ability to multi-table, the faster play, the shorter line-ups, no tipping, no travelling, etc.
