Re: What are you worth. Paradise Poker just got bought for $3k per us

(I was thinking about this while watching bowling with my pet rock while simultaneously playing pogs and sporting a New Kids on The Block slap bracelet) [/ QUOTE ] The biggest difference between these fads and poker is that millions of people were already playing poker before this boom hit. This is just changing the location where many of them play. |

Poker is the new golf. And Phil Hellmuth is the new Tiger Woods. |

I don't believe investing in poker at this point would be that wise, as it is probably nearing its downswing. [/ QUOTE ] The 2003 WSOP - 839 entries The 2004 WSOP - 2,576 entries The 2005 WSOP - ???? You think poker is on it's downfall? |

The biggest difference between these fads and poker is that millions of people were already playing poker before this boom hit. This is just changing the location where many of them play. [/ QUOTE ] I agree completely. The main thing we need to worry about, I think, is a PR disaster. There's a few possibilities for this: - A well-known poker site just decides not to let people cash out. They take the money and run. I know this is far-fetched, but it's possible. It has happened with some obscure online casinos. -The media decides to report stories about gambling addicts who lost thier life savings online, and how it's so easy to lose all your money so fast. Most people will have the sense not to blame the wrong people for this, but it wouldn't be good. The other thing to worry about is all the Bible thumping tards who believe that gambling is bad for society. These people definitly have significant political power. So I guess the plan now is to: VOTE LIBERTARIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Poker websites make such a killing, they don't even NEED to collect rake. The owners of Party Poker's grandchildren could live off just the intrest on the money that is held in PP's accounts.

[/ QUOTE ] Haha, took me a minute to parse this...I was wondering how Party Poker had grandchildren, and why someone owned them... |
