Situation which needs the Wisdom of 2+2
Scenario: Me and a friend who we are going to call Deaf Ed play frequently in a cash game at a local bar. Well after Hurricane Rita we meet an insurance adjuster who we will call Bonk the Donk. Bonk is your average "thinks hes good at poker will gamble his mother away" donk.
Deaf Ed proceeds to play Bonk in HU holdem games for $1000 a peice. Deaf wins about 7 grand from Bonk until the game is called. Bonk starts playing party & loses insanes amount of money. In the meantime Deaf Ed and Bonk start hanging out together, while Deaf waits for Bonk to earn some more money so he can play HU again. (Insurance Adjusters make insanes amount of unfairly earned money) Deaf Ed gets angered at me, the narrator, for attempting to play Bonk in HU games. He says Bonk is his "deal" and that I'm just leaching off of it. Well Bonk stakes me in a $150 Party Tournament in which the deal is that we split any prize payout if I place and he'll pay for my buy-in. I end up placing 30th or so and we each receive $500. Couple days down the line another $150 tournament comes up, and I talk Bonk into staking me again (zero risk proposition for me) to which he agrees. Ed then proceeds to talk to Bonk and completely talk him out of all my staking deals with the excuse that I'm just screwing him out of his money. Well my reasoning is that Bonk is your average Donk and is going to gamble whether Ed likes it or not. If Ed was so "worried" about Bonks money then Ed would refuse to play Bonk in any more HU game (for a significant amount of money) forever. Instead Ed admits he's waiting for Donk to earn more money before they resume HU play. Screwing a deal in the gambling world is a no-no is it not? It's like wisening up a fish, and I feel I got screwed here... I didn't tell Bonk to not play Ed when they played for a grand a game, but Ed feels the need to screw me out of a measly $150 dollar deal which is probaly equal EV at worst and probaly slightly positive EV. Oh and Mr. Ed says "Bonk is my friend, I can't let you screw him over." <This statement is [censored] in my opinion. So who is in the wrong here? Btw sorry for the lame ass names...I know i deserve a kick in the nuts for them but It's the best I could do. |

Ed is not your friend, he is a douche bag. Take the monies from donk, shoot ed, bury the body with some lime on top of it. End of thread.

Re: Situation which needs the Wisdom of 2+2
simple, start calling up bonk to play him HU for 500 a game. He'll think that he's getting a better deal and you screw over ed

I thought you weren't allowed to talk about [censored] like this in OOT [/ QUOTE ] People are taking this way too far. The OP could have censored poker out by calling it something else, but does it really matter. Its a thread about whether this other guy is a douchebag, not poker. |
