River cop out... or a sound check
Read: BB is loose and semi-passive / I’ve witnessed him play a little aggressive on flops with overcards and 2nd best hands, but generally felt any sort of aggression from him should be respected… especially turn and river aggression. His flop lead here felt to me like it could be a draw, but also a good chance I was behind and I intended on checking the turn UI.

Re: River cop out... or a sound check
Just call the flop, you have no real draw and a semi-passive has lead into you.
Id bet this river and expect to get called by a 6, 4, 55. prob an easy fold if he raises |

Re: River cop out... or a sound check
[ QUOTE ]
Just call the flop [/ QUOTE ] I've been mixing a call in on the flop here more often than I used to, but vs. a semi-passive when I raise I am (generally) planning on checking the turn and folding the river UI if led into. Since I respect turn and river aggression from this opponent more than on the flop... I try to use my position to my advantage by raising on the cheap street here with overcards. Although I guess it's possible I'm overplaying a bit in these spots. As for betting and folding to a check raise on the river... that's the heart of my dillema here. I just have a hard time releasing middle pair to a check raise in these spots vs. all but the tightest of opponents. It's a possible leak I'm examining - thinking that I can squeak out value when I am ahead a little more often. |

Re: River cop out... or a sound check
I dont know man, a flop donk usually means he has a pair or a strong draw, either way our equity is much lower, and we want to see cards cheapily.

Re: River cop out... or a sound check
i like the flop raise. i'll always go for a free card with overs against someone who lets me get away with it.
river is a very very easy bet/fold imo. |
