Re: Folding TPTK
How about betting the flop? Or calling the flop?

Re: Folding TPTK
A lot really depends on how MP1 and MP2 have been playing. I probably would have lead the flop myself in a 4 handed flop with this texture.
Without knowing anything about MP1 and MP2, and given the way you played the hand up to this point, I think you just have to let this one go and fold. So the only questions are wether or not checking in first position was good and wether or not you should have raised preflop, along with how MP1 and MP2 play. |

Re: Folding TPTK
I had just sat down at the table. No reads.
I have no idea if leading was better than my line or not. My plan was to c/r the flop and fold if reraised. The mini-raise threw that plan for a loop. |

Re: Folding TPTK
This is the problem with limping preflop when in the blinds. If you check raise the flop, your opponents put you on some sort of 2 pair, because you could have anything since you're in the blinds. And when they do this, there won't be any hands worse than yours that call and no hands better than yours that fold.
It's a good idea for the most part to raise your aj-ak when in the blinds so that this doesn't happen. |

Re: Folding TPTK
looking at stack sizes, if I was MP2 and wanting to stack off MP1, i wouldn't min raise with a set here but rather a hand such as KQ.
However, I fold in this spot because 1) I'll be out of position the rest of the hand 2) The pot is getting big and I have invested virtually nothing, combined with: 3) I have no idea where I'm at |

Re: Folding TPTK
The exact same hand happened to me in a 5/10 game last week, except I was in position, first player raised and second min-reraised. I folded pretty quickly and the guy had bottom set on the flop (ended up with a house)
What happened here? (I think you have to let it go without any reads) |

Re: Folding TPTK
And what was said about the two pair is very right, you have to lead out here imo

Re: Folding TPTK
I think pretty much all the responses are at least partially correct which makes this hand difficult and considering what you did, you just have to fold. To not have this problem in the future is what you need to now think about.
Two ways to not have this problem: 1. Raise preflop 2. Lead out on the flop. |
