Does one ever develop an immunity to busting late in a tournament?
I always feel like I just got kicked in the gondads. Does that ever stop?

Unless you're constantly making real bad decisions (and even then) you'll break through a few times... lots of ups and down in these.

Re: Does one ever develop an immunity to busting late in a tournament?
As long as I can say that I got my money in with the best of it when I busted and that I played my A-game, then I can accept my losses. If I make a big mistake that busts me, then I want to pay someone to kick me ass.

You mean you guys aren't regularily making final tables? I thought we were all good here???? I mean you can't win them all, but you should be getting to the FT a good % of the time.

I make the FT about 80% of the time. I am trying real hard to get that last 20% consistantly.

Re: Does one ever develop an immunity to busting late in a tournament?
It always hurts to lose late in a tournament. But honestly I'm way less "emotionally attached" to poker as I used to be.
The other day there were 31 left in the party 500k, out of 2400. I had an above average stack, and got all my money in with AK vs AQ... and lost. I really wasn't shaken at all, I simply said nh, gg, gl all, and went to watch tv. I thought about what could have been for a few minutes, but I didn't worry myself about it too much. This is as close to being 'immune' as I have ever been. |

[/ QUOTE ] Jeez, sometimes I wonder. Maybe it's because AA is 80/20 against underpairs. Coincidence? I think not... |
