BB flops the ignorant straight
100 MAX NL 1/2 BLINDS(LIVE-No real reads)
Beauty of a game, mostly loose-types, couple decent players. BB-K9o 5 calls to button who raises to $5.00 to go. SB folds, All call. To the flop: Q J 10 rainbow. I check, checks to button who bets $15. I raise to $30 and MP calls, button calls. Turn: rag, maybe a 7d. I bet $5.00 2 calls. River: Jc I check, MP checks, Button goes all in for $54.00. I am usually a limit player and had to think about this given typical PF raising hand ranges. On the button though, I thought his range was pretty wide so I called. Okay play? Like I said, I am normally a limit player so appropriate postflop play in big bet can be tricky for me. |

Re: BB flops the ignorant straight
You are missing a lot of information. Stack sizes being the most important thing.
First of all, fold K9o preflop here. You're not going to flop a straight all that often, which is pretty much about what you're hoping for. 2nd of all, don't check this flop. Bet it out for $30 or so and push if someone raises. There are a lot of cards that spoil your day. As played, I hope you didn't actually bet $5 on the turn. With a $100 stack, you should just be pushing at this point. On the river, it looks like one of the cards that spoil your day came down. Ryan |
