Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
Is it just me or is everyone super tight preflop at pokerstars? Anything higher then $.05/$.10 and it becomes only 3 max most of the time before the flop. Is there better results at party poker? I hate to think I have to drive an hour to my local casino each time I want to play just a little.
I was just trying out the $.25/$50 when I was seeing this. |

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
They are both equally soft at 2/4 and 3/6, so I would assume the same holds true for lower limits.

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
I didn't have that experience. On average I saw 5-6 handed to the flop.
Even if the table is playing tightish preflop, their postflop is still terrible. |

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
I've only played 2/4 and 3/6 6max at stars, the 2/4 game was good, the 3/6 game was really hit or miss
Party's games through 3/6 are all soft |

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
I recently went switched from Party to Poker Stars after taking half a dozen bad beats in the span of a few days. I had heard that Stars is much tighter than Party, and its true. In the few weeks I played at Stars, every table I played at (.25/.5 and .5/1), the tables were extremely tight, 2-3 players to the flop on unraised pots, and usually 1-2 in on raised pots. The pots were much smaller on Stars. Sure, you'll win more pots on Stars than on Party, but from what I found you're lucky if you win more than just the blinds. Party is extremely loose from what I've seen, and overall it seems like it is more profitable in the long run. I know my bankroll took a lot of swings on Party, but ultimately you'll be better off playing on there than Stars.

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
It takes a while sometimes to find really soft games at Stars .25/.50, but 30+ VPIP games are certainly available; I can almost always find at least one if not several.
For what it's worth, the average # of players to the flop at Party .50/1 is about the same as Stars .25/.50 by my record. |

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
Hmm okay, then perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. I'm just judging it by the plrs/flop percent and watching a few tables tonight.
Anybody else have a better way to find a good soft game to play online? |

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
If you want to play .25/.50, Paradise is pretty soft at that limit. There is, however, a relatively small pool of players there, but Bison's rules for PT have probably 75% as fish and gamblers. The tables start to dry up after about 11pm PST on weeknights. I see the same 5 TAGs all the time . . . maybe they're following me . . . .

Re: Anyone try pokerstars and party to compare?
Well u can datamine the [censored] out of pokerstars with Starspy. Big plus IMO. datamining 45 tables at once has its perks.
