I would just call the river raise from an unknown, especially since the 5 landed.

I'd just call the river raise. The flop and turn action pretty well says that you have the Q, and he's not intimidated.

Re: battle of the blinds - AQ, should i seriously fear AA
I'd definetely cap on the turn and river against the jokers at 2/4. Only AA and 55 beat you. Your opponent could have just a Q or some other junk. If there were other limpers in the pot I'd say the player would be more likely to have AA, but with just one person posting the blind, the BB could think you're trying to steal and could have KQ,QJ, QT, Q9 or other crap.

Lol, I think he had AA because you posted this and you obviously would not have had you won the pot.

Re: battle of the blinds - AQ, should i seriously fear AA
Well, BB isn't letting your "I have a monster" line of check-calling the flop and checkraising the turn bother him. That said, there are exactly two combos that beat you (one each of AA and 55). Two AQ combos tie you, and you beat everything else.
I might just bet-call the river, out of the difficulty I'd be having thinking BB was really putting in this much action with KQ (4 combos), QJ (4 combos), AK (8 combos) or some other hand I beat. But I might go ahead and bet/3-bet/call the river instead. (And, with only two combos that beat me, the fact that Villain is unknown, instead of someone I know to be reasonable, is part of what makes me want to 3-bet the river.) If you lost, the cards just fell in a really unfortunate way for you. |
