Re: JJ hand - when the board pairs
In this situation you should raise the turn bet and lead the river.

Re: JJ hand - when the board pairs
Personally I disagree:
The donkbet could be a trip two or a queen. Either one of those beats our jacks up. Against a TAG or an otherwise good player I might raise, but against a 60% VSIP or something like that I would probably follow the OP's line. |

Re: JJ hand - when the board pairs
Do you honestly think that the 2 on the turn improved someone's hand? There's no reason not to raise on any part of that hand, IMO, as I believe MP2 is only trying to bluff the 2..

Re: JJ hand - when the board pairs
It is usually just a donkbet trying to push you off overs, but as he said it's often a Q which still beats us. However, it's usually a weak Q that doesn't have enough confidence to C/R. I do like the raise/fold to 3-bet line because he'll be too afraid of AA/KK or a Q with a better kicker to 3-bet; and there's also a chance he'll have a 7 or a flush draw. Additionally we wouldn't mind taking down the pot on the turn since the 2 villian's collectively could have 6 outs on us with any A or K; and with a flush draw out we'd like to charge that as well.
If they call you check behind on the river though when you don't river your boat. |
