Default New Internet Poker Player, newbie question. thanks

I've decided to try to internet poker after 3 session in 2/4 limit holdem at my local b & m.

I'm down about $100. Thinking I would do better online with the lower rake and more hands. Plus, it's more convenient for me too.

I'm thinking about playing at Party Poker .5/1 limit holdem and using poker tracker to assist me.

Any recommendations on how to be a winning player on the internet? How do i keep track of stats with poker tracker? any tips and tricks that u know of will be great help.

sorry if i seem lazy....

thanks in advance,

YoungOne

3 sessions at a B&M can't tell you a thing. You can be the greatest player in the world and still be down or the worst player and be up.

THE SHORT TERM MEANS NOTHING.

Read stuff and try it out, that is the only way to find. out

Go lower. 2/4 live is equivalent to penny games online. .50/1 may even be too high for the time being.

He is right, use the 300BB or more rule! Some people use less but I like to have a cushion so I've been under the 400BB rule for a while.

thanks for the all the great replies, especially the links to newbies.

What about poker tracker? Seems like a great software that can assist me in my development.

Seems complicated to run, but would like a few tips on how to start.

Just curious if i need to write down notes on paper or let the software do all the work.

thanks,

YoungOne

Let poker tracker do the work. It is not that complicated. You can try a free trial version that will hold 1000 hands.
