I think checking the turn behind because of your gutshot outs is fine against an aggressive player, since you can't fold to a checkraise here.
Against a passive player, bet the turn and check behind the river. |

I think the flop bet is good. After the flop bet, I think I'd go ahead and bet/fold the turn planning to check behind on the river.
Edit: Einbert's response clearly makes more sense than mine. |

Your hand is a really weak made hand. The only worse had I see him calling your flop bet with is an inside straight draw with an ace, or an OESD (J8, 87).
I would go ahead and bet the turn. If he calls the turn bet, check behind on the river. Fishlips |
