Looks fine. Villain sucked this hand up, not you.

Re: Comments on this line
If villain is tight, what do you think he has when he calls your flop bet? Would he raise an AK/AQ there? When a tight player who doesn't suck postflop flat calls a donkbet, he's usually got a monster. If he's tight preflop but won't let got of something like KK/QQ despite the ace on the flop and you betting into him, your line is not bad, but you probably ought to fold the river as chopping is the best possible thing that could happen as KK/QQ will take the free showdown the majority of the time.

Re: Comments on this line
What do you mean by tight? Does that include unaggressive preflop? Will he raise weaker aces than AK from that position? If he won't, and is tight postflop (as in will get away if he gets action when there's an overcard to his pair), I see no reason for calling this preflop.
Man, that sounded weak tight. |

Re: Comments on this line
only bet the turn if you think its reasonably possible that hes drawing, on this board, he is not.

[/ QUOTE ] Folding preflop would not be horrible here. There was some discussion on Paul Phillip's blog a few weeks ago about playing it early in a tournament with deepish stacks (similar to a cash game). AKo has a lot of reverse implied odds when calling a raise as it has no deceptive qualities whatsoever. If there's an A or a K on the flop and the preflop raiser is not slowing down, its usually fairly safe to say he can beat TPTK. |

Re: Comments on this line
This may be sort of obvious to more experienced players, but I have noticed that any time the board is paired, there is a real threat of a Full house. Especially with overcards on the board as well. I would have a tough time laying down TPTK with that much cash in the pot, but when that 2nd 4 hit and villain bet a 1/2 pot sized bet, I would have thought about it. That size bet seems to me to be sort of scary. If he went AI would you have called?
