Competition at Microlimits at Pacific Poker
Since I mostly played at Pacific Poker (0.05-0.1 up to 0.5/1) I have some difficulties to evaluate the competition at the microlimits at Pacific Poker.
My Question is more or less: Is the incredible loose behavior (% of Players at table seeing flop generally 60+, often 70+, sometimes 80+) and the real bad postflop play something that is special at Pacific Poker or is this more or less normal at microlimit? I'd really like to hear some oppinions of others that play microlimit there. thanks a lot |

Re: Competition at Microlimits at Pacific Poker
I did some bw at pacific a while back. Hated the software, but the players are softer than a down comforter. I don't remember running into more than one or two players who were any good.

Pacific is soft but, Day'um!!! Playing there is like watching paint dry while collecting nickels. Make the move to Party as soon as you can.

Re: Competition at Microlimits at Pacific Poker
I started there playing .05/.10 also. I have played on other sites too- the direct comparison is that 1/2 at Pacific is equivalent to .25/50 or .5/1 at many other sites, 2/4 is equivalent to .5/1 or 1/2 and so on.
The play there is definitely the softest I've seen. This may be the result of the fact that you can't multitable there and couldn't use PT there until recently, so the hardcore players may have been kept away. Also, Pacific is part of the 888.com casino-on-net family, so I think a lot of gamblers who are "in the casino" to gamble stop by the poker room for some fun, as opposed to other sites where they came there specifically to play poker. Anyway, the software sucks and the tech support blows blah blah blah, but the games are the softest you'll find anywhere. Just make sure that if you change sites, you move down a level or two at your new site so you stay at the same level of game. J |

They vary at Party but I'd guess anywhere from 45-60+ hands being table dependent. The backside is you can multi-table, where as on Pacific you can't, therefore you increase your hands and win rate (hopefully). |
