Re: $55 hand, call with K7?
call and hope to double up. Ther overlay is HUGE-- take tha gamble.
if you fold u have about %12.8 of prize pool-- if u call and win u get 25%, if u call and lose u have 9.3%. Huge overlay-- go for it. When there are 5-8 people left, and blinds this huge, YOU HAVE TO GAMBLE-- take every +CHIP EV oportunity. Now, who knows how to user pokerstove and can figure out the rest of the ICM calc. Or show me how to use pokerstove. |

yeah, i'd call. you're gonna be well under 33% to win, but the bets are too small compared to your blind.

Re: $55 hand, call with K7?
If they are both fairly loose here you will have about a 26% chance to win.
.26 * .25 + .74 * .093 = .134 So, .6% +$EV. If either of them are tight you will have about a 23% chance to win. .23 * .25 + .77 * .093 = .129 which is pretty $EV neutral. The table is tight though. If you fold, there will not be a supershort stack. If it folds around to you, seat 1 is a good candidate to have his blinds stolen (just based on his stack). After that you have a few shots at picking up a good hand. On the other hand, you are almost certainly not going to just steal your way ITM. You are going to have to double somewhere. This is a shot at doubling without risking a bust. If you lose you will still have a decent enough stack that you may only have to double once in order to get ITM. I vote call, because I like the alternative less (just like in a real election). |
