99 hand that I dont like.
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $3. UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, CO (poster) calls, Button 3-bets, 2 folds, UTG folds, Hero calls, CO calls. Flop: (11.33 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, CO folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, Hero calls. Turn: (9.66 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls. I thought about laying it down right here. But I havent seen that guy make a post flop call in like 30 hands. So I call down. River: (13.66 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 15.66 BB |

Re: 99 hand that I dont like.
I would check/raise the flop for one. If he makes it 3-bets, you can dump it on 4th street if you don't improve.
The way this one went down, what are you trying to do on 4th street? His flop cap tells you that he almost surely has a larger pair then you, and on the turn you can't even beat something like AK [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. If you are going to make an information type 3-bet on the flop, you have to go with it when he caps. The turn could be a total blank and I'm check/folding. The A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] takes away all possibility that you have the best hand. Brad |

Re: 99 hand that I dont like.
I really think that you have to fold the turn here. I think leading out the turn is okay, but once the ace hits and you are raised on the turn, you are not in great shape. Many quirky hands capping the flop (AdKd, AdQd, etc...) are now way ahead. Even in the very rare times you might be against a diamond draw that doesn't have an A (KQ) you're equity is still only in the %65-75 range.
Resist the temptation to want to see a hand... just let it go... |

Re: 99 hand that I dont like.
Given your read, I think calling down is alright, although I personally would be very tempted to fold the turn. This is an awkward hand, I don't think there's much else you can do differently.

He had AKo no diamond. How does he cap the flop. Why do people catch on me.

you're pretty much dead once the turn card slides off, yet you paid 3 more bets.

Re: 99 hand that I dont like.
Because the Poker Gods hate you. Now my opinion is biased by your results, but I think you have to fold the turn raise the more I think about this. Maybe check/call the turn and river if he's aggressive as you say he is. Either way, I think you must fold to the turn raise.
