Pick one. The novice doesn't stand a chance in any poker game vs a pro. Master stud, omaha h/l, razz, pick one. Low ball games are no more luck than high games, just a different way to figure the nuts.

War. I hear this game is going to be very popular, and if you practice, your hand speed will give you an enormous advantage over newbs.

Just pick any game and learn it.
While I'm not fluent in many variants of poker, it would seem that some form of 7-stud has the biggest edge for the good player. I doubt you've mastered holdem. If you had, you wouldn't be looking for a different game - there are enough holdem games out there to last you the rest of your life. If you aren't beating online holdem, then you haven't mastered it. |

My somewhat wild guess is stud/8.

[/ QUOTE ] I've heard this before, but where are most of the "bad" players playing? Newbies aren't sitting down at Stud anywhere near to the degree they're sitting down at Hold 'em. Flocks and flocks and flocks of abysmal players - and they're playing Hold 'em, especially up through the $10-$20'ish limits. When you combine this with the higher variance one will have at stud - I'm surprised when people recommend stud... Barron Vangor Toth www.BarronVangorToth.com |

I agree that there are probably fewer bad mid-limit stud players. It seems we are answering different questions.
I am not saying I recommend stud as the best way to make money. I am saying that a good stud/8 player has a large edge over a bad stud/8 player. |
