oops, he\'s almost all-in and i have five high.
Very good $5/$5 live game in New Orleans. Aggressively bad player (he's raising most of the time) makes it $20. Fish who I haven't seen in any big pots calls. Tight/weak player calls.
I look down to spot 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in my SB. I've got a very tight table image and haven't been getting paid off, so I make it $120 all day, intending to scoop the pot and flash my monster cards. Aggro player folds, fish fumbles with chips and calls, tight/weaky folds. Fish has $80 left, pot is $290. Whoops. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. My move? |

You could always open-fold. However, you do have a backdoor draw to the nuts, so my vote goes for putting him in.

Re: oops, he\'s almost all-in and i have five high.
It's not uncommon for uberfish to call off half their stack preflop and then fold when they don't get a good flop, so I'd go ahead and put him all-in. There's a decent chance he doesn't have a pair yet, and even if he doesn't fold you've got some outs. The pot is big enough to make it worthwhile, I think.

Hi,
I thought you said you were playign the hand for image value to begin with? Bet his last $80 and flip 'em up. Why is this even a question? Later, MarkV. |

Re: oops, he\'s almost all-in and i have five high.
Because the fish is going to bet his last $80 when you check and is going to call 100% of the time if you bet? Check/folding face up and everyone who might be paying attention knows your making an image play and ignores it. Putting the shortstack all in with five high and you might actually make people stop and think. Later, MarkV. |
