Default weird betting patterns..

Has anyone noticed betting patterns similar to this?

MP2 is holding JKo btw.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO raises, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (18 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, CO folds.

Turn: (11 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls $0.50 (All-In), MP2 raises, Hero calls, BB calls.

MP2 raises me on the turn, then hits his trips on the river.

River: (17.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players, 1 all-in)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls, BB folds.

Final Pot: 19.50 BB

Something similar happened the other day when a villain was going beserk on the turn, i held AA, he had 22, he hit a 2 on the river to make a set.

Just curious guys, cheers.

Maybe he thinks you're likely to suspect he has at least 2 pair by the way he waited til the turn to raise. How he could get 3 of you to fold is what I'd like to know. Perhaps the whole table apart from you and him are LPPs, and he knows he only has to beat you (or get you to fold) to win teh pot as they'll call with anything. ... Or he accidentally pushed raise.

i see people do this. i think it is "ooh, i'll be tricky and hit 'em when the bet doubles on the turn". according to Theory of Poker: you won the hand even though you lost. he did not play his hand correctly, and you lost the least amount. somebody's been watching too much tv

i had a similar annoying situation that just pissed me off. i was MP3 with AJo (maybe AQo) and it is checked to me, i raise then all hell breaks loose. UTG limp raises, everyone calls 'til button caps !?!?!?

i say "what the hell is this?" UTG says "poker." then proceeds to tell me to chill and that i should never play NL ?!?!?! what the?! anyway, i go on a tear for 30BB/hr and get a little of his money before he tucks tail and runs.

I would 3-bet his turn raise. Any thoughts on that? 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] can't really help anyone but pocket sixes here.

People do this thinking they're being clever.

Last night I had a very similar situation come up. I had AK and raised from EP, getting coldcalled by a few fish as usual. The flop hits K-rag1-rag2 rainbow, so I'm happy. I bet and get called in a few spots. The turn is another rag. I bet and suddenly one of the fish springs to life with a raise. I call the raise and check-call the river. He shows K4o (a fine coldcalling hand) and MHIG. My initial reaction was WTF but it's probably best not to expend too much energy trying to divine the strategy behind slowplaying TPNK vs. a PFR.

I've seen people "slow play" a marginal top pair and wait for the turn to raise, but this hand seems weaker than usual. I'm sure it's somebody trying to be cute and got paid off for it.
