If you had your own custom CLAY chip set...
Say you were getting a new chip set from Paulson, or ASM, or TR King. [or you were making labels for a set of River Poker Tours, or Nexgens ] Would you want the classic style of inlays? Or the newer, graphic oriented style?
Here are examples of what I mean. Keep in mind, you're not voting for these actual chips, but the "classic" style of them versus the other, "fancier" style. The classic types (choice #1 below): And the "fancier" ones (2nd choice below): Ten |

Re: If you had your own custom CLAY chip set...
Although I'm not a big fan of the three chips you've given as examples, I voted for the first option -- the classic inlay style. It seems to me that if I wanted a big, colourful, vibrant inlay I'd be better off going the Chipco route and covering the entire chip with the design. For me, part of the charm of clay chips is the retro look of them.

I would go for the classic - something like the Bellagio or Monte Carlo....really simple and really good looking.

[/ QUOTE ] Everyone, feel free to post images of either classic or fancy inlays to show your point. I'd like to see what you think. Remember, only standard inlay size on real clay chips need apply. No grand inalys... (may as well use Chipco for full face graphics). Ten |

Crosspost:
I vote for both. Something simple and elegant like this appeals to me. Anything with a non-circular inlay (scalloped, geared, etc.) scores big with me. [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly. I bought 75 of those $5 chips for cash games, on their way right now. I have 40 of the $25: These will be a cash game set. I have 100 .25 cent binions hot stamped chips. I'm actually looking for a $1 chip that would fit well with this combo. All the same style, TH&C chips. Preferrably a $1 in circulation at a casino. |

Here's a picture of a Moulin Rouge chip:
... that captures pretty much what I'm talking about. Simple, classic -- nice. OK, I'd probably go for a richer red chip colour, and maybe a more exciting edge spot colour, but the design here is great in my opinion. |

I've always liked them because they had all the inlay shapes (hexagon/cog/scallop/hub), however I think the $1 is the only chip with a standard round inlay. J |

where can you find those scandia's? [/ QUOTE ] Ebay I guess. There are at least 3 different versions of the Scandia set though. Only one of the sets has the TH&C mold AND the various inlay shapes like this: except with this $5 chip: The standard inlay set looks like this: I believe there is a 3rd set with the various inlay shapes, but no TH&C mold.
