Help with screen on Dell 8600

I just got my new Dell FT2001. When I try to set it to 1600x1200 resolution, a message pops up on my monitor that says "2

VI-D Cannot Display this Mode". I am at 96 dpi. Can anyone tell me what I need to do differently please?

I'm so anxious to try this new monitor out. Anyone who can help me solve this problem?
