40/80 Do think your beat?
Very loose aggressive game. Anyone play this differently?

Bet the river. Everything else is fine.

Re: 40/80 Do think your beat?
your suggesting i bet the river when i was 3 bet on the flop and then check raised on the turn? that seems a little much? reraising (4 betting) the flop was pushing it, then i am check/raised on turn, you still bet the river? doesn't it seem one pair is weak vs this much action?

Re: 40/80 Do think your beat?
Let's try to put people on hands. Unless the BB is tricky enough to go for yet another check-raise in this massive pot, I'm not putting him on either a 7 or 5. He may have a flopped straight, but I think he would bet the river with that. Basically, I think his river check shows a sign of weakness as opposed to trickery. Now, what does the button have? Seems like a big pair, but you beat them all except for AA. Could he have AA? Sure, but I think it's a little less likely as opposed to KK/QQ/JJ because he didn't raise the turn.
So a river bet here would be a value bet in my mind. |

One good thing about betting is that you'll get paid off by a worse hand.
One bad thing about betting is that you'll be really annoyed if you're raised. |

Re: 40/80 Do think your beat?
i wouldn't bet, unless you're sure enough that you can fold to a raise. BB looks like he has 99, and checking again to hope that someone has a 7 or gets stupid and bets with A high.

Re: 40/80 Do think your beat?
I think you played it well. It's hard to believe the SB would check AA or 99 on the river, with two likely overpair callers waiting to do their thing. Maybe the SB thinks you have AA and got tricky on you with 99, but right now I think you split the pot with SB's KK, with the button holding maybe QQ.

Re: 40/80 Do think your beat?
The river check behind makes me think you are ahead. However, you cant know that until they check behind, given all the action. Hard to believe that someone would have played QQ that agressively live, when it seems obvious it is beat.

Re: 40/80 Do think your beat?
the results are that KK won a big pot. BB J9h (top pair on the flop), button AK (no improvement), all in caller 4h3s (no improvement). If this is 40/80 what are low limit games like?

[/ QUOTE ] The fact that you are amazed by your opponents hands and play in this hand explains a lot. Possibly the single biggest mistake that people make on these boards, which is repeated in Middle Limit Holdem, is to assume that your opponents play, think, and execute exactly the same way you do. |
