Borgata 3-6 on Saturday 11/6
Here's a quick story from this past weekened of playing 3-6, let me know what you guys think.
I was having an alright day, up around 6BB after playing 1.5 hours at the Borg 3-6. This hand is not too important, but gives some background information on why I acted like I did. I'm in the SB and see AA. Everyone folds to the button, who raises, I reraise, the big blind calls, the button caps, we both call. (Important note : The big blind is about a 50 year old man who had a stack of silver dollars in front of him.)I end up flopping a set(Ac Jh 4d) and betting the set the whole way through. The button folds on the flop and its just me and the calling station known as the big blind. He calls my flop bet, he calls my turn(9d) bet, and raises me on the river(7d). He makes a 9 high flush on the river with, 2d3d. I laugh, order another drink, and get ready for the next hand. He says, "You can't push me around, hahaha, you just can't do it. Not today, I'm lucky with my silver dollars." I laugh once more. About 2 hours later, as expected, this man is small stacked. I forget exactly what hand I had, but I remember flopping top two pair. He bets into me on the flop, I reraise, he calls, and we are heads up on the turn. He has one dollar chip left and those lovely stack of lucky silver dollars. The turn falls, filling my boat, and he says, "1 dollar all in". I look puzzled, smile at the man, and ask the dealer, "Don't those dollars play? I mean, they are table stakes". At this point, the man curses at me, "These are my lucky (censored) dollars. I'm not playing these". The dealer agrees, a floorperson is called, and the floorperson agrees. Long story short, I reraised him on the turn, and bet the river and about 15 of his lucky dollars were cashed into unlucky borgata 1 dollar chips. He left the table outraged and once again, I laughed. Am I a jerk? |

Yes you are a jerk, but I like it. Punish the ignorant! If he had the nuts he would have used them.

Exactly, if he knew he was going to win, he'd have bet you every last dollar you had on the table no matter if they were lucky or not. I mean, give it to him is what I say. He probably plays all the time and always has some sort of luck charm. To me, my luck charm is my chips. The higher the stacks get, the luckier those chips become! Re: Borgata 3-6 on Saturday 11/6
I dont care if your old or young, ect. If you want to talk trash with me, I can talk it right back at you. It's that whole golden rule thing, just used in reverse. "Do unto others as they have done unto you". I'll be friendly and courteous until you give me a reason not to. And the lucky silver dollars, they're on the table so they play. As a gesture, the floorman could have let him exchange cash from his pocket for the coins on the table, but thats his problem to work out with the floorman.
I was in the 6/12 game on Saturday from 2pm til 4am, also quite juicy. One fish dropped over $1400 calling with anything, a few older regulars dropped a couple hundred each, an older chinese lady played from before I started to after I left and made ~$800 while I was there. I made $275, not bad considering the 2 hour stretch of no pots coming my way and it was my first weekend ever playing in a casino. |

Nicely done. I'd have done the same thing.
Except I would have had a few more comments when i took the silver dollars and stacked them up. |

I would have done the same thing, maybe adding "If they really are lucky (censored) dollars, then you'll win the hand and have them right back". You also could have offered to sell them back to him for $1.50 each. Similar to rdu $teve, I'm (usually) nice to other players until they give me a reason not to be nice. |

You should have toked the dealer with those "Lucky Silver Dollars" before he left.

Re: Borgata 3-6 on Saturday 11/6
If the old guy realy wanted to keep his lucky silver dollars then I'd offer to sell them back to him (chips or dollar bills... its all fair). Would that make me a jerk?
