Did I get schooled or what?
This hand is from months ago, but I, obviously, haven't forgotten it.
Party 15 Solid player open raises in MP, folded to SB who calls, and I call with 88 in the BB. Flop 824r SB checks, I bet, MP calls, SB folds turn T Bet/call river 7 Bet/call He had KK I'm not really looking for advice - just posting an amusing hand. I'm not sure whose fault it is that I didn't win more. |

Re: Did I get schooled or what?
I'm not sure I see the point in betting out, here. If you check, it's very likely that the middle position raiser will bet and you can possibly trap the small blind between you. If the small blind folds, you can decide whether to go ahead and raise the flop anyway or wait for later to make your move.
Even the way you played it, though, this hand should have netted you more money. Either MP is extremely passive or you have severe image problems. SpaceAce |

Re: Did I get schooled or what?
Knowing nothing else, did it occur to afterwards that he thought his hand was way best and you might fold to a turn raise, so was letting you bet his hand for him?

Re: Did I get schooled or what?
Why wouldn't he raise the river then?

Re: Did I get schooled or what?
c/r the turn. if it checks through, he has nothing and you wouldn't have gotten a call anyway. it also sets him up to call you down with A high if it checks through.
