When did Paulson STOP selling chips to the public? WHY did they quit doing this and HOW do we get them to make more?

Re: Paulson - Why DON\'T they sell to US???
iirc, they were bought out by a french company who made the decision. Don't recall the name of the company offhand though.
I'm a little surprised that with the poker boom, etc they haven't changed that to try to cash in. Maybe someone should start a grassroots campaign, petition or something to get them to consider changing the policy. |

The previous owners of Paulson, the Endy family, started a new company that makes really great chips called Blue Chip Co. and they make them for the public.

Re: Paulson - Why DON\'T they sell to US???
My initial reaction to Blue Chips was "not that great," although with some considerable wear and break-in, they aren't bad.
Not my number one choice, but if you're looking for "clay" chips with real multi-color edge spots and some sort of edge molding, they're pretty much the one choice. |

Re: Paulson - Why DON\'T they sell to US???
Do they have a website? I got a sample of the "fan of cards" set from Apachepokerchips, and they have the seashell imprint (blue chip co?), and they were VERY lightweight. I was NOT impressed with those.

Yup, that's them.
They're a bit light, and the sound is off, but after some wear, they feel more or less like Paul-Son. Except for being a bit light. |

Re: Paulson - Why DON\'T they sell to US???
Blue Chip also makes BuyPokerChips and NJ's Nevada clays. Those are my personal favorite for home-use clay chips. I spoke with Mike Endy about a week ago and he did mention that the only difference between chips made for home use and those made for a casino was the weight.
