Default Cheatin\'

About a month ago I got involved with a weekly home game - very juicy. I've been slaying thee guys. I also live about 10 minutes away from the casinos in Black Hawk, CO.

There is this one guy at the home game who keeps telling me that he wants to hook up with me and go to Black Hawk to play one of these days, which is cool. He's a nice guy and plays OK. However, he also keeps saying how we need to work out some sort of "system" and get on the same table. Basically some way to cheat to help each other. He says this in front of the whole table too. Remarkable. I instantly dismiss this idea every time he brings it up. "I'd like to continue playing there - not be on their black list", is what I said the first time.

I believe that cheating at anything is a true insight into one's character. Of course I will find some way to avoid going to Black Hawk with this guy.

Ever see someone get tossed from a card room for cheating? If so, did the goons drag him away and make a big scene as an example or politely ask him to leave?

It's a $5 max bet at Black Hawk, so what would be the point?
Next time tell him he could make more money robbing some little kid's lemonade stand.

I know you said you're killing the home game, but what makes you think this guy isn't cheating there somehow too? Not sure I'd want a part of ANY game he's in.

I believe this depends on the jurisdiction. In Nevada, there are state laws against this kind of stuff. Depending upon what the laws are in Colorado, they may not be able to do much (legally) other than bar you from ever playing there again.

the players i got to B&M with are reasonably good, so when we go, we are rarely involved in the same hands together.

except for last time when my bastard roomate called my call-reraise on the flop with AJ on a flop of like J 7 2 and i had a set of 7's. i almost berated him like a fish in front of all the other players when he whipered to me what he had after the hand (he folded on the turn though).

seriously though, cheating with 1 player at a B&M where you have little signals as to what cards you have, in my opinion is completely pointless.

oh, but having a system to help eachother might me marginally profitable, if not hard to implement and practice it isn't even worth the time unless you are playing like 20-40

Caesars In a guy was palming cards and the dealer didn't catch him but the eye in the sky did but not until he left. He returned the next day to a warm welcome, he got a pair of bracelets and a stay at the Iron Motel.

I was in laughlin. Guy was marking cards. They asked him to leave very politely. The goons escorted him right to the police car.

Another time same casino. BJ game kid is drunk as hell about 21 years old. Doubles down on 13 or some crap like that vs. dealers 6. this crap goes on for about 15 minutes. Hes calling the dealer everything cept a white man. Needless to sasy he got escorted out by the goons. Looked like a cartoon where they threw him out on his can. Was very funny to watch.

If you were able to kill a game even though you knew that 1 player was cheating, wouldn't it still be in your best interest to continue playing in the game? If not its a matter of principle not EV.
