Re: How many bets with the nuts?
I took my seat in a live 20/40 game and the very first hand I saw before I even came in I saw 2 guys go raise and reraise PF for around 15 bets. Of course both had AA but the fact that eventually one called was sort of surprising. I don't think it is rude at all to raise until you are all-in when you have the nuts. Thankfully, the dealer left the bets in front of them so it made choping easy when neither hit a flush.

if he's a retard, why ruin his night? [/ QUOTE ] Kurosh said he had 100 BBs in front of him. I'll piss on his dead mother's corpse for that type of win rate. |

Re: How many bets with the nuts?
I would stop after about 10 bets. By that point it would be clear.

Re: How many bets with the nuts?
Do. Not. Stop. Ever. You'll be amazed what you get shown.
I've only gone past the 4-bet cap (Foxwoods) 3 times in live play: I have KK on a K54r flop against a pretty LAGgy player. We go 11 bets on the flop before he just calls down with K9o. I have AKo on a AK8 flop against a fairly tight player who cold-called my EP raise and is just about all-in, so we only get in 6 flop bets (he has A3o... ok, maybe he wasn't so decent). And best for last... I have KK on a KQ827r board and go 10 bets on the river vs a guy who is tilting. He finally just calls and shows Q7o. So, to recap... Do. Not. Stop. Ever. Tom |

Re: How many bets with the nuts?
I'd say do you want to go all-in after about 20.

Re: How many bets with the nuts?
I've seen two decent playing, good card reading (but overly macho) players go 12 bets on the river in a 15-30 game about 10 years ago because both read the other for air (and both were right). a pair of deuces beat Q high.
I go to the felt with the nuts. |

[ QUOTE ]
If I'm playing in a game with a friend (which I often am), and notice the friend isn't playing A-poker in that session or is tilting or whatever, I will tell them I don't think they're playing well. But if they stay in the game, I sure as hell am not going to go easy on them out of guilt that they're playing when they shouldn't be. [/ QUOTE ] Bingo. I've bluff check-raised my wife out of a pot. I'm sure as heck not going to go soft on a stranger. |

Re: How many bets with the nuts?
Until he stops!
I played my first live game at MGM (2/4) vs. a drunk young LAG who kept re-raising me. I held AQh. The board was Kh, Th, 2c, 4h, 5h!! At one point, I picked up a handful of chips and cut out 8 at a time and simply said re-raise as soon as he spoke. After 10 re-raises, he finally called. I showed the nutz, he said "Oh, a flush?" and mucked! Unreal and a $160 pot in 2/4. As others have said - DO NOT STOP! |
