oh man there are alot of bad sequels.

Starship Troopers 2 sucked really bad.

I really liked the 2 Matrix sequels, but I agree they werent as good at the first. Thew new Star Wars were not great, but not horrendous. Caddyshack II was absolutely horrible, B and R was the first movie I walked out on, highlander 2 made my cry in pain.

If it went stright to video, it really shouldn't count for the purposes of this poll.

Sequels almost always suck. I think a better poll would be to find out what the best sequel is. IMO it would go to Godfather 2.

I'd pick Terminator 2 for best sequel. It was miles above the first one. Even people who think the Godfather 2 was better than the first Godfather would be off on Mars if they claimed there was a gaping difference in quality compared to the original.

I picked Major League II, Jaws: The Revenge and Caddyshack II.

Caddyshack II had been discussed.

Major League II; well, the first one wasn't the greatest movie in the world, but it was a likeable formula movie with likeable characters. The first thing that II does is to alienate the viewer from all these characters by making them annoying as all hell. Then, when we are supposed to go back, they never really do become likeable again.

Jaws: The Revenge...well, what can you say about a movie where a shark starts executing a personal vendetta against a specific human family unit? A movie where, in order to protect her family from a shark, a woman moves.

That's right, moves. Doesn't just tell the kids, "Hey, stay out of the water," which is a pretty good defense against your average fish. She moves. Naturally, the shark knows she has moved and actually beats her to the Bahamas. (Move to the Bahamas to protect against a fish...yeah, yeah, good.) This movie is so bad Richard Jeni has a bit in his stand up act where he just describes the plot of this movie, it's a hilarious 10 minute bit.
