Division I college football and the BCS are complete jokes. There is one reason to have the current system instead of a playoff...money. Stop tinkering with this stupid system and junk it completely. Incorporate the bowl games into the playoff system and they'll have a huge hit.

Right. Sports are a joke. Competition of any form is a joke. Ban it all, poker included!

Oregon is #5 in the BCS and ND is #6, yet by getting #6 ND was "guaranteed" a spot in the BCS? And Oregon was not? I'm so confused.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oregon should have finished #4. Simple as that. Now STFU and enjoy your trip to the Holiday Bowl, and don't look as foolish as Cal did last year.

Oregon beat no one. Montana, oooo, Fresno, oooo, Houston, ooo

7 average Pac-10 teams, oooo

Notre Dame had one of the hardest schedules in the land, and honestly, they are probably 1 play from playing against Texas in the Rose Bowl.

ND won

@ Pitt
@ Michigan
@ washington
@ purdue
TENNESSEE
lost to USC by 3

Oregon

FRESNO STATE at home by 3
@ Arizona State
CAL at home

No contest. Just those 4 road wins for ND puts them above Oregon.

Think about it this way, if Notre Dame scheduled Houston at home in stead of USC, they'd be 10-1, and no one would question them going to the Fiesta ranked 3-4.

Blah, blah. ND barely beat Stanford, etc...

This [censored] could go on forever and is absolutely pointless without matchups to decide who is actually best.

BCS is rigged. Every year I pray that they will fcuk up big time leading to the system's abandonment.

The only game I'll watch this year is USC/Texas. And I will personally paraglide into all the other games to disrupt them in protest.

ND schedule (current ranks) record of opponents

at Pittsburgh: 5-6, T3rd-5th Big East
at (20) Michigan: 7-4, T3rd-6th Big Ten
Michigan State: 5-6, 9th place Big Ten
at Washington: 2-9, TLast Place Pac Ten
at Purdue: 5-6, 8th place Big Ten
(1) USC: 12-0, 1st place Big Ten
Brigham Young: 6-5, T2nd-3rd Montain West
Tennessee: 5-6, T4th-5th SEC Eastern Division
Navy: 7-4, Independent
Syracuse: 1-10, Last Place Big East
at Stanford: 5-6, T4th-6th Pac Ten

So, ND played 4 teams with a winning record, 2 from major conferences, and only 1 on the road; that's not too spectacular. While it looked tough on paper, those teams turned out not to be such on the field. Don't believe the hype. Those four road games are easier than what members of the big 5 conferences play every year as a part of their normal schedule.

Sure they would question it.

You actually used the @Washington game as part proof that they played a tough schedule? Not to mention @ Pitt. Tennesee sucked this year too.

I'm a huge Husky fan, but we flat out sucked this year. The last 2 years it's been a fantasy to be considered a tough opponent on anyones schedule.

The only thing one can brag about Husky-wise is that my seats will improve next year as more season ticket holders refuse to re sign. Woo Hoo!!!
