Re: when do i stop?
[ QUOTE ]
If I'm against the tightest rock in the world who WILL NOT under any circumstances raise without the absolute nuts, then putting in a 3rd bet on a K7442 board with KK is -EV. On the other hand, if I'm playing against someone who doesn't look at his cards, there's no way I'm not putting it all in with AK on a AJ962 board. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah since TPTK is like the 15th nuts. |

[/ QUOTE ] Read the post. If my opponent literally doesn't look at his cards, his hand range is any two. TPTK on that board beats 90% of hands. If he turns up two pair+, oh well. It was still +EV to put it all in. You need to think a little past "oh, I don't have the nuts, I can't put it all in." Of course, the reserve is also bad, "oh, I have the nut boat, I'm going to the felt." Think in terms of hand ranges. What hands would my opponent play this way, and how many of them can I beat? |

Re: when do i stop?
One time on party 15-30 I had 2 6's in the hole when the flop came 66j. At first I didn't realize that one of my opponents had jj in the hole. Naturally after I stopped being afraid of him getting out, we capped every chance. After the hand, he asked me what I would have done in his place. I told him I would have done the same thing and if I had been him in a casino that did not limit raises heads up, I probably would have lost all the money I had in front of me.
If you get beat by quads, all you can do is say "nh" and move on. |
