Steve Dannenmann article from today's Washington Post

"I'm not doing this for the money. I'll split it with my pal Jerry and I'll stick the rest in the bank. I'll donate some to charity because there are people who need it more than me."

That's pretty cool.

He's my pick too, though I'm rooting for Steve.

I'd like to see a Pokerstars threepeat for selfish reasons too, as I do almost all of my online playing there, and I'd imagine it'd help to grow their customer base.

I'm pulling for Black. Good story, sounds like a talented player and a nice guy. What more can you ask for?

Anyone else notice how his stack went from about $2 million at the start of yesterday to over $13 million at one point? Too bad he made that call with KJ vs. JJ at the end of the night, I guess Fillmaff got to him or something.

I still like his chances though, he played very well yesterday.

Yeah, you're right. I meant to say made that play with KJ. That's what happens when you don't proofread...

The two remaining from PokerStars:

Daniel "Berka" Bergsdorf
Brad "Bogey54" Kondracki

From Bluesquare.com here's the Final Table Odds:

Black 9-2
Barch 5-1
Kanter 5-1
Matusow 11-2
Hachem 6-1
Bergsdorf 7-1
Dannenmann 7-1
Lazar 10-1
Kondracki 16-1

Kevin...

[/ QUOTE ]They're giving Matusow particularly low odds. It's not like he is just a total donk, and he has chips to work with. I think betting for Matusow would be +EV.
edit: n/m I thought they were giving him 11-1.

John "Tex" Barch will be 2005 WSOP Champion.

He plays good but more importantly won't let the spotlight bother him and he has played in bigger plo and plh games for quite a few year. Nerves won't be a factor and I think we can count on a Mike Matusow blow up. I was there when he bluffed off a ton of money at the final table with 7-2 off. It will happen again.

cheers. J.Brown

If Matusow wins the ME:

What's the over under on how long til he is dead from raging parties and/or some other irate player giving him a beat down. I say 3 years.

His drug dealer must be licking his chops.

Well, at least the details aren't getting recorded incorrectly:

"Aaron Kanter doubles up
He is all in against Greg Raymer with just QJ against Raymer's cowboys. He hits a heart flush on the river and is lucky to survive.
