i'm no sure if it was daryn that said this origianlly in another post but it went something like this

"always say pocket jakcs, even if 3 jacks were on the board"

it makes sense in every situation...i was asked once and when i did it, i got 2 nods and one "nice hand"

it's also changes your image, if you were 4 betting your set or raising the river with an A and K on the board

So my standard line of "none of your damn business" is not a good idea?

[ QUOTE ]
I was playing 5/10 at Turning Stone (somewhat high limit since they only spread 10/20 and 20/40 higher than 5/10 at the time and most tables were 1-3 spread). Anyway, I was chatting up a storm, getting everyone relaxed and trying to get them to stop concentrating on cards so much. One of the quiet older males who I haven't really talked to asked me what I had after I took down a huge pot on the river without showing. Giving away my hand would be dumb...how do I pretend to be nice while saying "f off" at the same time?

Editted for spelling reasons.

[/ QUOTE ]

There's no need to tell him to eff off. Just make something up, or even better, tell him exactly what you had since he won't believe you anyway.

Hey, seems to me you have a free shot here.

Do you want to keep it friendly? -- Pair of Jacks works (or any other hand that comes to mind)

Do you want the guy to call you next time? Just say nice fold.

You could even tell him you had rags and were bluffing in the right case.

Another possibility -- if you haven't done anything fancy, maybe even show your cards. Practically gives you the right to make him show his hole cards later in the game (and if he asks again, you can always say that you only give one freebie)
