In the blinds.
But otherwise, 43s is really weak. No high card strength, and weak straight making ability. Even 35s is a better hand. The hands you are trying to hit are baby flushes and the ass-end of a straight. Drop that trash. 56s is marginal, 34s is a money loser here. |

[ QUOTE ] Raise and reluctantly call a 3-bet. [/ QUOTE ] This is what I did. He showed me the nut flush. Is everyone sure that folding to the 3-bet is not better than calling it? I've seen no real arguments for or against. [/ QUOTE ] 6 BB in the pot, he bets (7), you raise (9), he 3 bets (11 BB)... so you are getting 11:1 to call. The argument for calling here is that you are not losing this hand 11 out of 12 times. |

The argument for calling here is that you are not losing this hand 11 out of 12 times. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I get that, but the question is: Are you sure? Against any kind of reasonable player, I think you may not be good that often. Against an unknown, the call is probably correct. |

Re: Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
1) If SB is a reasonable player: Call
2) If SB is a moron: Raise and call 3 bet. Rationale: In 1, the SB bet a flop that has 1 draw, the flush. 1 player raised and 1 cold-called. This immediately raises flush draw flags. The turn is checked thru. The flush draw flags just went flashing neon. The SB bets river when the only draw hits and 1 of the other two players were probably drawing to it. You don't want to have to call a re-raise against this player and if you fold, you will agonize about whether he had q10 or a whiffed checked raise set on the turn. Also folding after the river raise might cause other players to take pot shots at you. Call and expect to probably lose. In 2, obviously a moron will bet and raise w/ anything and have no reading ability so you need to max value. |

Re: Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
I bet this turn for value. Your hand comes in just about 30% of the time, and I think you have a bit of fold equity.
I could be wrong about this though. |

Results oriented? You'd be singing a different tune if you folded to the 3-bet and he flashed you his rivered set or QT. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, this one doesn't seem very close to me. Gotta raise and (semi-reluctantly) call the 3-bet. |
