Do you really want to find out on the turn that he has Qs beat? Check-raising the flop makes it easier for you to play as well, which was the point, right? More info = easier?

Edit: I might also mention that some 6-max players cap lightly on a steal, so you may be much better off than you think. They do that to take the pot from you on flops like this. Don't let them.

check call the flop check raise a non threatening turn card. Reads on this opponent would be extremely helpful

I'd generally bet/call this flop, and then think about c/f the turn if raised. This is with no read, the first time I'm in this sort of situation with the guy. Everyone on here seems to be saying either c/c or c/r. What's wrong with what I've been doing?
