Do you really want to find out on the turn that he has Qs beat? Check-raising the flop makes it easier for you to play as well, which was the point, right? More info = easier?
Edit: I might also mention that some 6-max players cap lightly on a steal, so you may be much better off than you think. They do that to take the pot from you on flops like this. Don't let them. |

check call the flop check raise a non threatening turn card. Reads on this opponent would be extremely helpful

I'd generally bet/call this flop, and then think about c/f the turn if raised. This is with no read, the first time I'm in this sort of situation with the guy. Everyone on here seems to be saying either c/c or c/r. What's wrong with what I've been doing?
