Open folding the small blind is an underrated option, IMO. [/ QUOTE ] I use this fairly often as well. |

Re: Theory: Raising from the SB in 6max
On the button, most of the time, yes. In the sb, most of the time, no. Stealing from one opponent is significantly easier than stealing from two.

Re: Theory: Raising from the SB in 6max
It's a math problem.
If you raise pot, you're laying 2.5 to win 1.5. If BB folds >63% of the time, you should be doing this with any2. Alot of BBs will. I still dont steal with any2, but from a mathematical pespective, you should. I steal with... (against typical opponent, against a blind defending nazi or psycho reraiser aggressor, I wont) PPs, AXs, KXs, Any 2 broadways, SC, SC1gap, SC2gap, PaintXs, and offsuitC. Just fold the real trash; (things that shouldnt ever be played) Paint Xoff, rag/rag, and 3gapper+. |

Re: Theory: Raising from the SB in 6max
I do the limp/bet the flop most of the time. I play full ring though, so this situation comes up a lot less. I do think it's good to try raising here 3xbb once and seeing if it works. If the BB comes over the top or plays the flop aggressively, I stop raising him without a hand. If it does work, I'll try it again later, but I don't do it every time because I figure he'll pick up on it.
On another note, when everyone folds and the SB limps into MY BB, I almost always raise. |

[/ QUOTE ] just to make sure that i get it right: you propose one should usualy fold Axo on the button in an unopened pot? this advice appears to be VERY tight. |

You're not accounting for times you develop best hand or villain folds to c-bet steal so you need to be successful much less often even disregarding all metagame purposes. |
