Ok I got a new ipod, but I don't like the ear bud things. I'm looking for the most comfortable headphones around, stuff that won't make my ears ache after a long poker session.. Something on the smaller light weight side. Excellent sound too, and able to hear table conversations when the volume is low.. I don't want to seal off the outside noise. Any suggestions?

thx.. BB

you've got to have a budget for these things. Etymotics, makes amazing earbuds. But you've got to decide many things.

Closed headphones - these isolate you from "noise" outside factors

Open headphones - these allow sound from the outside, a likely choice.

you need to choose headphones/earbuds/earphones.

Very true. I've got a pair of Sony headphones that I bought a year or so ago that actually produce very good sound...the problem though is that I can't hear a damn thing besides the music because they completely cover my ears. I had to pull them off after a half an hour of live play because I couldn't follow what was going on at the table. Besides, they make you look like Lando Calrissian's sidekick.

Great for online play though.

You got a pass. There's been a TON of headphone posts in the last month or so. Try a search?

I believe it's impossible to beat Grado SR60 in its price range, however it's unlikely that an iPod can pull them off.

Sennheiser make a good pair of open air headphones. Probably run you 4 bills or so though.

get the sennheiser hd590s, these are so so comfortable and have great sound, been using them for many years. i also have the quietcomfort 2s which are not as comfortable (though not bad) and are not as good sounding (though not bad), but are amazing for airplanes and noisy things.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 580s which sound great. But you might want to follow the other suggestions to check out the Etymotics. I've heard nothing but great things about their sound.
