You know people who wait outside gay bars to violently attack human beings? Have you called the police and reported this? If you know them by name and where they do this, they should be easy to catch and prosecute.

[/ QUOTE ]You would think so, but this is a common occurence at almost any gay club yet you still don't see the cops escorting people out at the end of the night. Also I live in a dark red state, and police have a very wide range of discretion about what to do on most issues. One person accused me of being gay (for hanging out with gay friends) then spit on me and threw rocks at me (while standing with a few of his friends). When I reported it the police just looked at me like "whatever, [censored]". Nothing was done.

That is certainly discouraging. Have you written to the Attorney General or any other high ranking state official? If the local police refuse to enforce the laws, is there any thing that can be done?

I don't know if there is, but the last thing I need in my busy life is a time-consuming fruitless battle centered around the premise of my homosexuality. I mean nothing is done about America's provably racist police and judicial system, so there are better battles to pick and things to spend my time on.

Besides I don't think there's any way to prove the police didn't look for the guy. It was just an impression I got that I shouldn't have bothered saying anything and impressions don't really stand up to legal scrutiny.

What I can do though is make sure my son grows up in Chicago and not this [censored] cultural wasteland.

So you know for a fact that people throwing rocks at others were registered Republicans? I seriously doubt anybody vile enough to do that is the type who votes or participates in the political process.

I don't.

The "party of life" has been waging a war against queers for some time now. It's not that secret. Look it up.

Tell me where to look it up. Tell me where to find the Republican website that tells people to violently attack gays walking out of bars. Opposing gay marriage is not the same as violently attacking people. Or do you think it is?

There are also rumors that he dated Bo Derek and was first asked to run for congress by his former girlfriends family friend Mr. Ronald Reagan.

Rumors are rumors - leave them in the gutter till there is something concrete to report.

He really wants to be a Regan conservative... but his social agenda is pretty liberal... even for CA.

I think he is a strong politician (whatever that means) and could do a lot to sheed some of the stoggyness of the Republican party.
