Re: Do you ever open limp?
I open limp more than I should, typically from EP and LP, with a variety of hands. Of course most of the time it's during the deepstack portion of the tourney, but I'll occaisionally do it in other spots.

Re: Do you ever open limp?
You mean you wouldn't open limp with 55? I want to see the flop as cheap as possible with this hand because if I don't flop a set I'm pretty much done with it.

Re: Do you ever open limp?
Early on I'll generally open limp with a variety of hands. Small pairs and suited connectors, and sometimes *gasp* A-A.

Re: Do you ever open limp?
ANYONE who says there is only ONE way to play ANYTHING is WRONG...
translation - I've got a chump that raises every hand he plays - nearly 50 % of the time - I get AA under the gun - why not limp and let one of the other players raise? - and I'll usually throw a couple limps in there here in there with small pocket pairs - if I get raised, I'm out cheap - and I'm setting things up for if I want a good C/R preflop later on when I have AA/KK - I'm not saying it should be done all the time, but sometimes there is a nitish "absolutism" to poker that is just absurd - there are several ways to win and the trick is for you to figure out the optimum way to do so with each individual situation - it is this slavish nitish devotion to hard and fast rules that made the System such big news about 3 yrs. ago - "ooohhh...I can play tournament poker, win, and not have to make any decisions based on anything....I can just follow rules I have in this book to determine my actions..."
