Re: HU AK Hand
I really dont see folding as option. He could easily bet with any reasonble draw here, so your AKui has show down value. I see nothing wrong with calling down, baring more hearts or a few straight cards. I assume we dont have the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] which would be incentive to at least call and maybe raise.

Re: HU AK Hand
First off, UTG raises, folded to the BB who calls?
That might be the shi tiest 2/4 live game thats ever been played Anyway, If this guy is a thinking player i would raise after he bets the flop. See how he responds to that. reason being is that he should be thinking u have a very strong hand which could very well be an overpair to this flop. By just calling it screams that ur Holding AK or AQ or UI overs, anyone with an over pair who is known to be solid player would raise with an overpair here. If u call and hes aggro enough, he just might bet at u the whole way while ur chasing a 4to 1 pot and those overcardouts may very well not be clean. By raising this flop u can fold a better hand(such as top pair) if hes convinced u might have an overpair if not u probably go t a free card or at least a turn bet might take it down.(IF he doesnt have jack [censored] then hell probably just give it up if u raise him.) I would raise this flop against a solid player. Fold it againt bad players and probably just call down against a maniac being UTG and him being a thinking player he has to put u on a very strong hand here. The alternative is to just fold on the flop which is easier and probably close in EV. |

Re: HU AK Hand
Ur right, he probably wont fold an 8 but there is some chance he might and even if theres no chance u still might get a free card if he goes into check/call mode.

Re: HU AK Hand
if he's got an 8, a player with this description is gonna 3bet a lot of the time. Someone betting out with an 8 is looking to bet/3bet. Otherwise they'd checkraise or checkcall.

do we have a heart [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]? [/ QUOTE ] This affects whether I want to call or raise the flop. Against this player I can't see folding to a flop bet whether we have a heart or not. |

I really don't see what's wrong with folding. -DeathDonkey [/ QUOTE ] I think there's a lot wrong with folding here. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with this, not only for the hand in question but also because I'd just as soon not paint a bullseye on myself for the rest of the night. I'd probably call the flop. |
