Ok now THAT'S put in a way where even I can understand. Thanks! No new information can reach you, since nothing travels faster than light. Still....
If you started traveling (at the speed of light), from the sun, by the time you pass earth 8 minutes later surely the sun would appear smaller than when you first started out, no? Or... By the time you passed Jupiter wouldn't you able able to see Jupiter? Or would everything appear exactly as it was when you started out at the sun? |

Here's one. Say you're in outer space looking down at planet Earth. Let's say you have super vison and can see a airplane leave from Madrid, Spain and travel west to Orlando, Florida. The plane travels at 500 MPH while the Earth is rotating on it's axis in the opposite direction at the same 500 MPH.
To you it would appear that the plane is simply levitating in a fixed position in the air as the Earth rotates underneath it. It's all relative. |
