[ QUOTE ]
Bigger flush draw or straight flush draw 54 spades would be the most obvious.

WHY?
[ QUOTE ]
Others are oddly played bottom two or overpair.

[/ QUOTE ]
how would this be oddly played???

Smooth calling with QQ/KK/AA after PF raise + caller in betwee + loose players left to act with position on you and then going for a flop checkraise with only one player left to act (who isn't the PFR). This is all normal?

Xorbie asked which hands would the hero be likely to see that would justify a push. I gave a reasonable list of the hands I felt most likely that the hero could beat. Obviously there are a large range of hands that could be check-raised in this situation from tt or 99 to a set or j7 to a stone cold bluff. Without knowing villain's checkraising style its tough to narrow it down exactly. Secondly its an oddly played overpair b/c it seems almost suicidal to cold call a raise with 5 other callers with a big pair. If you do this regularly and win with them you are a better player than I am.

That's a weird spot for a check-raise. Was there a reason for him to think you'd bet there if checked to automatically?

My default play is to push here as you're only in a bad spot against a set. If you think that hand is very likely, then fold.

Well, I pushed and he called with 66. Turn made my flush and river made his boat. Oh well, seems like my decicion making wasn't that far off atleast, and that's comforting.

Thanks for the replies!

Well, now that you said the results I guess you dont need any more input. But I was thinking, like others, that he may have had a set or openended + flush draw. Since you are the button, is it possible he might think hero is just trying to buy the pot that was checked around to you and he may be trying to resteal since the others folded?
