Re: will i ever stop running bad?
Hi.
Every newbie to the forums asks this question ONCE... The reason it is once is because of the replies you're getting. We cannot assess your play unless you post specific hand histories. Most players do not want to even consider that their opponents are outplaying them. Some even deny the possibility of the negative side of variance. You cannot control the cards; you cannot control your opponents. All you need to do is make the BEST decision every single time regardless of the result. If you truly do this (and we will tell you when you don't) you will STILL hit -300 and +300 BB swings at some point. The hardest thing for me to get was the reality of long-term +ev. I honestly can say I don't get angry when my aces get cracked by 83o. If I protected my hand and played it well..I am psyched! I know that I win IN THE LONG RUN.... Best wishes, and I hope you stick with us and learn. -ZEN |

Re: will i ever stop running bad?
What does 3 months mean? Nothing. How many hands did you play in those 3 months? 30,000 hand dry streaks are certainly possible. If you are truly a winning player, yes, it will end. Also, you're playing no-limit AND shorthanded. Swings are magnified at NL (psychologically) and magnified even more shorthanded (variance wise). Check some of the posts by excellent players who play the 5/10 limit 6max on Party talk about their monster swings. Switch to full-ring limit for awhile and see how you work out. |

Re: will i ever stop running bad?
It seems a lot of you assume I am either bad, or a newb (yes I know I dont have many posts). I am neither. Not as if I would read the posts and say Eureka I am a bad player, but whatever. All I have to say is I am no longer going to play a game where one can make, for the most part, correct decisions and lose over 30,000 hands. I dont always play optimally, of there is such a thing, and yea I make mistakes. Tonight is it. 500 hands and i lost all ins to one backdoor str8, one bottom pair to my top two pair, and, for the second time this week, runner runner quads to my AA. Yes thats right 989 to 1 twice; not that trips wouldnt beat me, just insult to injury when the case card hits. I am done. And for all the naysayers; despite all of this I am cashing out a 800 percent profit for one week back...am I a great player probably not, but defenitely not bad; whatever...out.

Yes.
Atg some point you will: 1) Start winning or 2) Run out of money. Either way, your losing streak is over. |
