Am I missing something? Slansky Bucks???

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, when someone makes an incorrect call according to pot odds(like they're in the BB and you raise from the Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], let's say), and then on the flop it comes A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] with one spade. Now, your opponent has 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in their hand. They check to you and you bet. They call. The turn is the K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. They check, and you bet, and they call. The river is the 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. They check, you bet, and they check-raise you. You call the check-raise, and they flip over their hand. Now, you just lost all of that money to a backdoor flush that hit, but you just made a SHITLOAD of SKLANSKY BUCKS. So you can take that invisible money, and rub it all over your body. Over the long run, they will steadily give you all of their REAL MONEY as well.

Do you understand now?

You're saying it's not just a one time thing. They will make the same mistakes over and over again. Paying you off big in the long run. Right??

Think of the alternative. No one limps in with crap, never gives you action when they're weak and punishes you when they have strong hands/draws. If they're better than you you lose money and if they're your equal the rake eats you up. Its much better to lose lets say 2.5 bets you have invested in a 10 bet pot 2 out of 3 times against bad players, and make it back plus 100% interest the 3rd time.

Bingo. You found this site (and the books hopefully) cause you wanted to improve your game. You are already leaps and bounds ahead of your opponents who will gladly call a UTG raise with A6o.
