Re: $28,000 of your rake went to ......
despite forming the PLO (an organisation created to fight the israeli occupation of palistinian land, which turned into terrorist organisation) yasser arafat was considered one of if not the most peace orientated key figures in the palistinian side of the middle east uprising.
fox news may tell you that his death is a great thing for the peace effort, and im sure the american and israeli governments (who had agreed he was a valid assisination target) really celebrated his death. but just think of who could take his place now. love or loath he was democratically elected time after time by his people. all his people. and this is not some false democratic vote like saddam had before iraq was invaded and liberated. and im sure he was considered less of a problem by the world at large to the middle east peace effort than dubya was and is. Re: $28,000 of your rake went to ......
This is a joke, right?
Also, was it really necessary to make a political statement right here in this thread? |

Re: $28,000 of your rake went to ......
i don't want to get into a political war here, but arafat is a fuking murderer/terrorist. for someone who speaks as if he is up on the situation, you seem to ignore that his peace initiatives were baseless and only designed to illicit the type of crap that you just spewed. i'm glad he is dead.

Re: $28,000 of your rake went to ......
[ QUOTE ]
Well, $28,000 isn't much to pay to get your name plastered all over the internet and the media in general. I have seen this story today on TV, in my newspaper, and on the net. Every story mentions Golden Palace online casino. [/ QUOTE ] agreed. golden-palace has done some wacky stuff before too. remember the celebrity-boxing on Fox....they were tatooed on the back of one of the contestants (can't remember which one). I think the number of times they were mentioned on CNN and CNN-headline alone was probably worth near $5k to $10k for them. throw in all the mentions on all the other regular and cable networks as well as print media....and then the general gossip of people around the water-cooler, at the blackjack or poker-tables, etc....and I think they got a BARGAIN for their $28k. A 30-second ad on the Super-Bowl costs $1.5 mil I think. they didn't get quite the amount of exposure that one would get with a Super-bowl ad of course.....but for only $28k I think they did pretty darned well. |

[ QUOTE ] I cant imagine this is +EV for the casino... [/ QUOTE ] Ummm...for 28k they get their name plastered on every major newspaper, news website, and maybe even TV news. Around the world. This was damn brilliant on their part. [/ QUOTE ] I hire PR people all the time.... 28K is pretty dam expensive for this quality of press. I declare this -EV. Re: $28,000 of your rake went to ......
love or loath he was democratically elected time after time by his people. all his people. and this is not some false democratic vote like saddam had before iraq was invaded and liberated. Actually, the man ruled with an iron fist, including bullying at election stations and outright murder of dissidents. Only he hired his Fatah goons to do it, rather than have the official police do it. That is how Hamas gained power in Gaza: they positioned themselves as the religious, non-corrupt version of Arafat. |
