I played at River Rock about 2 months ago while I was in Vancouver. Beautiful casino and poker room.

Mind you, I played the 2/4 on a Sunday night, but the table was tight as hell for a while. I won the blinds from raising UTG 3 times.

Where does Sklansky ever say to call preflop with JJ?

I think its this:

"If no one has opened and you are in an early position, it is usually best to raise with JJ in a tight game and to just call with it in a loose game. With two jacks you would prefer either to have no more than one or two opponents in the hope your hand holds up without improvement, or to have as many opponents in the pot as possible when the majority of your profits come from flopping three-of-a-kind. The worst scenario is when exactly three or four opponents see the flop with you. This most likely would occur if you called in a tight game or raised in a loose game."

and I thought the table was pretty loose (which worked to my benefit in the end)

Again point taken, I should have followed through and raise after the flop.....
and probably called the C/R....

Thx everyone.

Without looking at the results, or others' comments, my inclination is to raise on the flop, and bet out the turn. If check-raised, I'm probably calling down, unless I have a read on the guy as a rock, then I'd more likely fold to aggression on the turn.

Before reading anyone else's reply...
I would raise the flop, and then call down BB if 3-bet. Or if he would simply call my raise on flop and then lead the turn (after he made his two pair), I would probably fold, unless I had a read on him. Being that you didn't raise the flop, I would fold the same way as you on the turn.

You have to call the turn check raise because the pot is so large. If he has two pair, you possibly have as many as 8 outs to trips or a better two pair. You shouldn't have been in the situation, though, because you should have raised the flop. This would have given you information based on how everyone reacted to that raise.
