Re: Buying Kane\'s Hand History Database
[ QUOTE ]
Just posted this in another thread. That may answer your question. I did a quick calculation and a win rate of 3PTBB/100 means that there is 99% chance than Kane's true win rate is between .8 and 5.2 assuming a standard deviation of 38.27 (mine). Of course there are many factors that stats neglect like the fact that sometimes games are far easier, for example when it is first spread on a site. Those numbers show that it is difficult to prove that someone is supposed to win at a given limit. [/ QUOTE ] Thank you very much. This confirms my guess that NL involves far more variance than the folks around here would guess. -James |

[ QUOTE ] I haven't had a losing day in 40 days. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I don't feel like I'm running particularly good. [/ QUOTE ] hahahahahah! [/ QUOTE ] His winrate is at 11ptbb, but thats only over 50K hands. after some regression to the mean, the poster is looking at a 7-8 pt bb rate. you have to be realistic about these things. to said poster: don't be surprised if you start to run bad, you could drop 4, even 5 buy ins. |

This is hilarious, I thought other good players had winrates similar to mine. I haven't had a losing day in 40 days. All I can tell you is that I swear my winrate is right about 11. I don't feel like I'm running particularly good. I get two outed with one card to go just like the rest of you. My average game size is between four and five people. And I am a notch better than all the regular high volume players and I destroy the occasional fish that comes. I have a good amount of experience playing heads up with Prahlad when he occassionaly played the 10/25 on UB like 3 or 4 months ago. [/ QUOTE ] I'll give you $350 for a cup of your jizz so I can impregnante the 10 cambodian girls in my basement to create a super army of NL players. |

Re: Buying Kane\'s Hand History Database
'Don't be suprised if I drop 4 or 5 buy ins.'
I have hours were I win or drop 4 or 5 buy ins. And I am not phased by that at all. But in the end, at the end of the day I have profited. Sometimes I may 'martingale' it too much and not play enough when I'm up and I might play ten hours to make up the 10 k I started down. So that explains my no losing days. I am very volatile within the day but I never lose. |

3PTBB/100 in 10/20NL is the same as 2PTBB/100 in 30/60 I am not sure if many players can sustain 2PTBB/100 at 30/60 limit. Bear in mind that this 3PTBB/100 of Kane is big surprise for many posters here. There for sure are people who can sustain at least 5PTBB/100. Btw its little strange that winrates are similair at every limit level (3BB/100 is godlike at almost any level) but in NL it changes drastically. Up to 200NL you can easily kill the game for 10PTBB/100 or more but things are not so happy at higher levels where even sth like 5PTBB/100 maybe considered dominating the game. Best wishes [/ QUOTE ] 10BB/100 IN 200NL? you play 200nl for over 100k hands and show me a graph beating it at 10b/100... i assure you that not many if any.. are beating it for more then 10bb/100. i 6 table 200nl now and only have a 4bb/100 and thats preety good. |

Re: Buying Kane\'s Hand History Database
[ QUOTE ]
I am just saying that telling him to come back in 200k hands likely won't solve anything. A player who has run that ridiciulously hot is very VERY likely to be well above his real expectation when he reaches 200k hands. Will it be 10/100? Heavens, I hope not. But it will be above what he should normally expect. I'd say 200k hands is probably enough to get a good idea if you start counting at hand 0. But when you already have a sample of 40k that seems to be an outlier, a 200k sample will almost definitely be misleading(though less misleading as the first 40k). -James [/ QUOTE ] I think James is correct. Take someones winrate after 200K hands, now lets say they break even over next 40K hands. Look how far their winrate falls. Now their next 40K hands they run at a higher average then the first 200K hands. |
