Re: Lies, damn lies, and statistics
If you play for fun, and you don't find statistics fun, don't maintain more than you need for tax purposes.
I enjoy figuring out how much I win. This can help to answer the following questions: [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Do I make more from poker than my day job? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Should I move down in limits? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] How much do I need to play at a higher limit to determine whether it is worth moving up? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Do I win more in SNGs than ring games? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] How much more do I win more when multi-tabling? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] How much can I withdraw? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Is it worth it to take advantage of a promotion that takes up time or locks up my bankroll? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Have I improved in the last few months? In addition, I think many players don't know how good streaks or bad streaks look from up close. Sometimes I don't notice that I have been running abnormally well. |
