you don't need 20,000 or 50,000 to "KNOW" you are a winning player. If you "KNOW" you are a winning player and can beat $3/$6, then go for it. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not saying this is you, but I'm sure the tables are littered with losing players who "KNOW" they can beat the limit they currently have no chance of beating. Thats the great thing about poker tracker, it forces you to look at the truth, number don't lie |

What I'm more concerned with is being over my head and missing important things that 2/4 would "teach me" basically. [/ QUOTE ] I've said this before, and received much disagreement. At the lower limits, the skill level of your opponents doesn't change as much as you go up, at least this is my experience. I can't see you missing too much by skipping 2-4. |

Re: Limit decision with new bankroll
I agree strongly with James.
Skipping 2/4 will do you no pedagogical damage. If you're a loser at 3/6, you'll be a loser at 2/4 as well. You can certainly afford to be a loser for a little while at either game. Truth be told, you can afford to be a moderate loser at either game for a long while. It doesn't take much of a clue to beat either game, so if you're not beating them already, you probably will be long before you put much of a dent in the tournament win. scrub |

Re: Limit decision with new bankroll
Why do you have to limit yourself to one limit? Play some 2-4, play some 3-6, you even have enough of a bankroll to take shots at 5-10. What do you feel like today? I play somewhere between 2-4, and 10-20 right now. Play whichever limit, you can find a good game in, and you can bring your best game to.
For a long time, it didn't matter to me which limit I played, my winrate at all of them was almost the same. After I got more experience, and was able to beat the higher limits for more, then it made more sense to play higher more often. Good luck, play well, Bob T. |

Re: Limit decision with new bankroll
Where do you play 2/4 and 3/6? I've only played both of those limits at Party, and the players suck equally at both limits. The only real difference is that you can complete your SB more often at 2/4 (thanks, Dan).
